Labels for Education

As collection's coordinator at Franklin Elementary School, I was asked to host a "Plus Up the Points Rally" at our local Smith's.  I sat at a table for two hours and handed out flyers for anyone who seemed interested.  I had balloons and a display of items that all have Labels for Education on them.  They put me in front of the floral department at the front of the store so it was even more festive.  It's very depressing how many people will walk by and not even acknowledge your existence.
I was there to let people know that they could help support their local school, or any school across the nation, earn eLabels for Education by linking their Smith's card to the eLabels for Education website.  It's really cool, if your card is linked, every time you buy a participating product your school gets an eLabel.  If you also clip off the lable and send it in to the school, they get even more points.  Just for me being there we will get a $100 store voucher for the PTA.  If we had at least 50 people sign up for Franklin, we'd earn a bonus 5,000 Labels.  I don't yet know if we made it or not.  You can also sign up to help out more than one school.
