lost tooth
Dave was certain he knocked his tooth loose on something, but no. It was just time to lose his first tooth. Another one is growing in behind it.
Colonialfest
July 4th, we joined Orem at the Colonialfest. This was a big star made out of flags.
John tried on the armor.
Then Alex had to try.
Then Mikey.
Yep. That looks about right.
Then Mikey had to try.
Colonial wear. Now Liz wants to make a dress like this with her Aunt Erin. John wouldn't try anything on.
summer hair cuts
Liz and I donated our hair to Locks of Love through Great Clips to get the free hair cut. I shaved the boys heads to start with nothing. Liz is tracking hair growth until January to see if hair growth is hereditary and if it is, does it grow at the same rate as mom's or dad's. They no longer look bald.
last day of school
Mrs. Harding was an awesome teacher. John will miss her, but he'll have so much fun with Mrs. Morrise. Liz had Mrs. Morrise and we love her, too. John is dressed in black because the 2nd grades danced to Phantom in their dance festival. I stayed at Franklin to help clean up the book fair. Liz had a ride to go do an 'epic battle' at a Provo park. Then they gave her a ride home.
Palla Rubra
Latin for Little Red Riding Hood. Liz played Red Riding Hood.
Her class put on little 5 minute plays and this is the one she was in.
She put the costume together herself. She's so grown up.
taco time
Mikey decided he needed another taco so he made one himself.
He did pretty good. There is meat under all that cheese.
Lemon tree
Lemon tree very pretty and the lemon flower is sweet,
but the fruit of the poor lemon is impossible to eat.
This is my little lemon tree. It lives in my kitchen window. I cross pollinated the flowers myself with a cotton swab and got 3 little lemons. Then I think I watered it too much and the lemons all fell off. It's so tempremental. The tree is doing fine, so we'll try again.
Discovery Gateway
Mini vacation this year. We went to Discovery Gateway at the Gateway mall in SLC.
We played at the water table.
Pretended to be beavers.
Climbed the rock wall.
Learned where food comes from (the farm).
Put on a play.
Played trains.
Built a tartis.
Learned how motors worked.
Built more things.
And played in the water again. Fun day. My feet hurt afterwards.
