Poor little guy. He looks so big in a hospital bed, yet so little at the same time. Last night Mikey fell off of Johnny's top bunk. The equivilant of an adult falling off of a two story building. After 45 minutes of whining and being held, when Dave came home from work we took him to the InstaCare. They didn't think they could help him and sent us to the ER. They determined he had broken his right femur. They took him up to the OR to sedate him and put on the cast.
It's called a "spika" cast. It's a full body cast that extends from his chest to his toes with a bar between the legs so that his leg definately won't move. I've been told that after a couple of days he'll figure out how to move around on his own. He'll be in the cast for the next 6 weeks. Diapering will be a little difficult. I have to make sure the diaper gets tucked into the cast so that he doesn't get the cast wet. I guess he'll wear jumpers that slip over the head and button underneath to accomadate the bar. Maybe wear one of daddy's socks on the bare leg. I feel awful, but he should be just fine. Especially since he's been on morphine and will go home with Tylenol with codine.

Oh! Poor baby! Zack just sent me your link...I cannot imagine how awful this is for him. He looks so sad in the first pic. Hopefully, he will get better soon! I've heard that lots and lots of ice cream helps the healing process ;)
