All of Alex's friends are 4 already and Alex has been waiting for his birthday for so long. I put up a birthday count down when he had one week left.
We had a Toy Story party and this is an example of the cupcakes I made. I found a cupcake liner and star toothpick set. Alex chose a yellow cake mix and looked through my cupcake cookbook and picked out the cupcakes with the chocolate buttercream icing and rock candy on it.
For a game, we played "put the part on the potato." I thought blindfolding 4-year-olds was too much, so I gave then a part with tape on the back, spun them around 6 times to make them good and dizzy and told them to put the part where it goes. They got dizzy, but went right up to the potato and the hat, eye and ear got into the right place and then the kids started getting silly. This is what we ended up with.
Here is Alex with all the girls his age: Peyton, Rebecca, Bethany, Elisabeth and Joslyn. His cousins Landon and Talon came later. During the breaks when I was getting ready for the next activity, I had the movie "Toy Story" playing.
We borrowed my brother's bouncy house for the kids to play in. It was a big hit! Even when Alex turmed off the blower and the house collapsed in on 4 of the girls. I kept them calm and turned the blower back on and they thought it was neat to go up with the house.
Alex loved all of his toys. While he was playing with them, Michael gave out and fell asleep. He was so cute there that I had Alex get a blanket for Mikey.
After Alex was in bed, Mikey had free run of all the toys Alex left out. Mikey seems to like trains as much as his big brother does.
