meet Kiva

Here is my new kitty.  She is a very sweet tortie (tortise shell).  She is seven years old so her adoption was free.

Her name was Six because she has six toes on each foot, but I renamed her Kiva (kee-va).  She wouldn't eat for the first couple days we had her, but we have her eating now.  She is less stressed and is feeling a lot more comfortable in her new home.

I built a cat tree and put it up in our library/toy room.  The only problem is that Kiva is declawed.  She can jump up onto the tree, to get away from small children.  She prefers to hide in small places, though.  We've had to rescue her twice from places that she didn't think she could get out of.
