On Friday afternoon, we held Johnny's G.I.Joe birthday party. We gave them dog tags with their name etched in it. They colored their dog tags with permenant markers. Note to self: have the kids wear aprons when using permenant markers.
Then they took turns running the obatacle course. They ran through the bicycle tires and tubes. They swung on the rope over to the cones and ran in and out of the cones. Then they climbed up the stepstool and jumped off and walked across the balance beam.
Then because it was muddy, they did the army crawl across a big tarp over to where we had the Nerf gun and shot at a target. Then they ran up and gave a high five to the next one in line.
For my birthday, Dave's sister Sarah gave me a recipe book to make quick gourmet cupcakes. This is the one that John picked out for his party. Rootbeer cupcakes with a rootbeer buttercream frosting. They were pretty good.
Here is Johnny while his friends are singing to him. He has his cupcake and ice cream. I can't believe my baby Johnny is 6 years old.
Here he is with part of his loot. He loved all of the gifts he received. His actual birthday was Saturday the third, but with General Conference and all the Easter activities going on, I thought that Friday after school would be a better day. Happy birthday Johnny.
