Johnny's glasses

Here is our little boy in glasses. You probably can't tell by this picture, but the left lens in the picture is about a quarter inch thick. Johnny has ambliopia (am-blee-o-pee-a, lazy eye). His right eyeis 20/400, his left eye is 20/25.

Here is Johnny with a yellow patch with pirates on it over his good eye. He wears a patch 4 hours a day to teach his bad eye how to see. We'll go back to the pediatric opthamologist in mid-march to see if his eye has learned anything. If if has, I think that they'll change his right eye perscription to work it some more. Through glasses and patching, the opthamologist is confident that we can fix his eye and he may not have to wear glasses his whole life like mom, dad and Lizzie do.
