coop preschool

I'm doing a coop preschool with some ladies in our ward. There are 6 kids and 5 moms to do the preschool. We each take a week; three days, two hours a day. We are asigned a letter, a color and a shape to plan preschool around. My week was H, green and rectangles. Here are the activities that we did. We made rectangle H books, built a house with rectangles, and practices writing H's. As part of "green" week, we talked a little about "reduce, reuse, recycle." We reused water bottles and made water, glitter, bead globes. We reused egg cartons to make caterpillars. We talked about our pet caterpillar that has since died. We went outside and crushed cans. We went for a walk and picked up litter along the dike behind our house. We took our brown bags outside and gathered up things that were still green. I took a picture of the kids and we put together green rectangles with their rectangle picture, green stickers and their name in green glitter glue. I had their names on everything already and when we did an activity they had to find the paper with their own name on it.
Here are the kids painting their caterpillars. My kitchen table is covered in newspaper ads.
Bethany, Alex, Jaysen, Mylin, Elisabeth and Peyton.
Here we are playing while waiting for moms to show up. Each day we got out a different Little People playset box. We have 4+. Peyton, Michael, Elisabeth, Bethany, Mylin, Alex's head and I couldn't fit Jaysen in the picture. I never wanted to do a preschool like this when Lizzie was little, but I am grateful for this opportunity to get Alex out of the house and doing things with other people. I have my week every 5-6 weeks. It is worth it.
